What is workplace giving?

Workplace giving is the process of making regular donations to charities through your employer's payroll system. Employers may choose to match employee donations or donate a specified amount. Together, you and your employer can make a real difference.

When you donate to UnitingCare Community, you know that you’re ensuring the sustainability of Lifeline programs across the state such as the 24-hour Crisis Counselling Line, free face-to-face counselling, school-based counselling, financial counselling, community (disaster) recovery, support programs for children and families and disability care. And it’s tax deductable.

People give because they sense a need, and it makes them feel good to help. Becoming involved in a workplace giving program can be beneficial for everyone involved - the nominated organisation, the employee and the employer.

Workplace giving is one of the intensive ways businesses can help support the community both financially and socially while promoting their own values as a good corporate citizen. It gives participating employees a sense of pride through a simple, convenient and efficient way to give to causes they care about while providing organisations such as UnitingCare Community with a steady flow of income/

• Build awareness and recruit donors. Research suggests that employees want workplace giving program information to be more visible, inclusive and accessible. UnitingCare Community can work with you on developing communication tools to send to your staff.
• Celebrate the collective difference being made as a community and act as a catalyst to enhance engagement in other forms of giving, such as volunteering.
