Professional staff and trained volunteers work in our 10 Lifeline Centres to provide telephone counselling for Lifeline’s 24-hour, national 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line. Qualified staff also provide face-to-face counselling by appointment or on an outreach basis. We have financial counsellors and a state-wide Financial First Aid telephone line to provide support to people experiencing financial distress. Other programs include Community Recovery, Crisis Response, Gambling Support, Community Development and Suicide and Bereavement Support.
The safety and empowerment of children and young people, both within their families and in the community, is the focus behind our services in this area. Child and family therapy is available across the state. We also provide domestic violence services including prevention and intervention, and supported accommodation for women and children. Family support programs are available, including specific services for refugees.
UnitingCare Community runs three Family Relationship Centres which focus on mediation for separating families. Family Dispute Resolution programs are also available as well as Post Separation Services, Co-operative Parenting, Supporting Children after Separation and Family Intervention Services. We operate out of home care including foster care, specialist foster care and residential care. We also run youth programs to empower the young people in our community.

UnitingCare Community offers disability support services to adults, children and young people. We support people with a wide range of individual needs and abilities, including people with very high and complex support needs. We operate in regional centres throughout South East Queensland and also in Townsville. UnitingCare Community operates four Inclusion Support Agencies - Brisbane, Logan/Redlands, Gold Coast and Toowoomba. These agencies aim to develop the capacity of childcare services to include children with high ongoing support needs. The agencies provide practical support to childcare services so they can create environments and opportunities for children to participate in activities that are developmentally appropriate as well as culturally and linguistically sensitive. UnitingCare Community is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We provide certified courses for Telephone Counselling, Financial Counselling and Psychological First Aid. We also run a program called Peer Skills which provides young people with skills, knowledge and strategies to assist their friends who may be experiencing a problem, while looking after their own health and wellbeing.
