Make a Bequest

Regardless of your income, wealth and assets, everyone over the age of 18 should make a Will. Most likely it will be one of the most important documents you will ever sign. It determines how your assets will be distributed and used by your familiy and friends. And it provides you with an opportunity to continue supporting those charitable causes that you regard as important today.

A time to give...

If you already support Lifeline, you know what ‘giving’ really means. It’s more than pledging money or material gifts - it’s also about giving of yourself; committing some of your tmie to remembering and thinking about those who are in real crisis.

When you decide to remember Lifeline in your Will, you are making a gift that lasts - promising hope and new life to those who turn to Lifeline in the years to come.

A time to hope...

It doesn’t matter how large or small your gift to Lifeline is, because every gift makes a difference. And it makes a difference to people right here where you live.

A time to act…

If you’d like to put your concern into action and make your Will, you should contact a Trustee Office or solicitor and ask that your wishes be appropriately recorded. Here are some options you might like to consider:

A specific sum or property
Simply nominate a specific dollar amount, or a description of peoperty you would like to bequeath to Lifeline. It’s advisable to review your Will regularly to ensure the dollar sum that you nominate stands the test of time and inflation.

A percentage
This prevents your beneficiaries from being affected by changes in the size of your estate or inflation.

The residue
After providing for your family and friends, you may decide to leave whatever is left to your nominated charity.

A gift of life

You can choose to donate to either the State organisation, UnitingCare Community, or your local division.

Lifeline Community Care Queensland

“I give and bequeath, free of all duties, the sum of $.......(or percentage, or residue, or property) to THE UNITING CHURCH IN AUSTRALIA PROPERTY TRUST (QLD) for the general purposes of UnitingCare Community.

The receipt of the Secretary of the said Trust to be sufficient discharge to my trustees.”

Local Centre
You can make provision to include your local Lifeline Centre in your Will by asking your solicitor to insert the following paragraph:

“I give and bequeath, free of all duties, the sum of $.......(or percentage, or residue, or property) to THE UNITING CHURCH IN AUSTRALIA PROPERTY TRUST (QLD) for the general purposes of UnitingCare Community (INSERT LOCAL DIVISION NAME).

The receipt of the Secretary of the said Trust to be sufficient discharge to my trustees.”
