UnitingCare Community offers both non-accredited community training programs and accredited training through its Registered Training Organisation, throughout the state.
UnitingCare Community’s Training and Development courses are continually growing and adapting to meet community needs. Our training programs can also extended to local businesses who book in their staff or Managers to improve their practical counselling skills, communication and relationship skills, and personal growth and development. An example of this is RISE. RISE is a telephone-based Employee Assistance Program developed to help workers recover from and deal with work stress in an informative, supportive and empowering environment.
UnitingCare Community training courses encompass a range of programs aimed at assisting you meet your goal. Our community education courses have been established due particular regional needs. They are run in our regional Lifeline Centres, are often one-off or short courses, and are either low cost or free.
Telephone Counselling Training Program is designed for people with no prior experience or learning in a counselling background. It is run approximately twice a year at Lifeline Centres across Queensland. The course involves training in counselling skills, issues and practical sessions, observations and supervised shifts.
The Peer Skills Workshop is a two day interactive learning experience designed to acknowledge and build on the natural listening, helping and problem solving skills of young people.
