Management of Child Care Services

UnitingCare Community operates the Roma and District Family Day Care and Roma and District Rural In-Home Care Service.

UnitingCare Community takes ultimate responsibility for the financial management of these services and in this respect are directly accountable to the Department of Family and Community Services.

The Roma and District Child Care Services Senior Co-Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operations of each service type.

A relaxed family atmosphere encourages families and care providers to work in partnerships for the good of the child.

All stakeholders within the Family Day Care community such as parents/guardians, staff, care providers, sponsors, and members of the community need to work together in an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and open mindedness. We believe in valuing each other’s individuality while supporting team goals and advocating for children within the community.

If you have any enquiries about these services, please contact the Roma and District Family Day Care Centre.

Philosophy

We believe that our service is an extension of family and community life. Each child who comes to the service is an individual who deserves to feel safe, respected and valued when attending Family Day Care. Children’s optimum development depends on a happy environment which is safe, nurturing, and hygienic and builds a feeling of security and self esteem.

We believe that each family’s structure, culture and needs differ. Families and carers deserve honest open communication which conveys respect, empathy and trust. A relaxed friendly atmosphere encourages families and care providers to work in partnerships for the good of the child.

All stakeholders within the Family Day Care community (parents/guardians, staff, care providers, advisory committee members, sponsors and members of the community) need to work together in an atmosphere of co-operation, respect and open mindedness. We believe in valuing each other’s individuality while supporting team goals and advocating for children within the community.

Goal statement

Roma and District Family Day Care will endeavour to provide quality, affordable, flexible child care which meets the individual needs of children of working and non-working families. The scheme will promote trusting and supportive relationships between carers, children and parents and provide an environment which encourages children to develop to their fill potential. We share a commitment to human rights, dignity of the individual and social justice.

Our service is a nationally accredited child care service and we are committed to on going self improvement.
