The Financial Literacy Education Skill Set aims to provide training participants with a set of skills to provide basic financial literacy education to clients.
Financial Literacy is defined as the ability to make informed judgements and to take effective decisions regarding the use and management of money. In today’s world of increasingly complex financial decisions, financial literacy is considered a vital skill.
The skill set consists of three compulsory units and meets industry requirements as specified in the CHC08 Community Services Training Package. These units may provide credit towards a range of community sector qualifications at Certificate II and Certificate IV level.
Skill sets are a way of publicly identifying logical groupings of competency units from an endorsed Training Package that meet an identified need or industry outcome. Skill sets are not qualifications, rather they enable a qualified worker to move laterally into work areas addressed by the skill set, or broaden their skill base in relation to the services they provide.
If you posess current industry experience and previous study in this area and you feel you already meet the skills, knowledges and competencies required, you have an opportunity to purchase an assessment ONLY option (no course learning material is provided). If you have current qualifications and industry experience and posess work samples and evidence required, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) please request the RPL Information Guide. Contact the Financial Counselling Training Service for unit-specific RPL Evidence Summary sheets.
